ITINERARY

Day 1: Juliaca - Puno

Upon your arrival in Juliaca, you will be met by our staff for assistance and begin your transfer to Puno. En route, we will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani—impressive stone burial towers, some reaching 12 meters (40 feet) in height. These cylindrical tombs were built by the Aymara people to bury their most important leaders and nobles.

Facing the site is the beautiful Lake Umayo, which adds to the serene and mystical atmosphere of the area. While exploring the site, you may also have the chance to observe wild guinea pigs, birds, and other local Andean wildlife.

After the visit, we continue on to your selected hotel in Puno, where you will have free time to rest and acclimate to the altitude.

Note: If you are arriving by train, the excursion to Sillustani will take place on Day 3 instead.

Day 2: Titicaca Lake, Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile

Early in the morning, we begin a two-hour motorboat excursion across the pristine waters of Lake Titicaca to visit the famous Floating Islands of the Uros. These ancient lake dwellers, known as the Water Tribe, have created their own islands by continuously layering Totora reeds, a plant unique to this region. Not only are the islands built with these reeds, but also their homes and traditional boats.

After exploring Uros, we continue our journey by motorboat to Taquile Island, home to Quechua-speaking communities known for their strong social traditions and world-renowned handwoven textiles. Their weaving techniques have been passed down through generations and are even recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Upon arrival at the town of Taquile, we will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by local families. After lunch, we’ll walk through the island’s scenic trails, visiting archaeological sites and enjoying panoramic views of the lake from the island’s various hills. The island is 6 km long and offers a unique blend of culture, history, and natural beauty.

In the afternoon, we return to Puno by boat, arriving in time for an overnight stay at your selected hotel.

Day 3: Puno – Juliaca

Located just 7 km from the town of Maras and approximately 1 hour from the city of Cusco via the Chinchero route, Moray is one of the most fascinating and visually striking sites in the Sacred Valley.

It features a series of circular terraces of varying sizes, believed to have been used by the Incas as an agricultural experimentation center. These terraces created different microclimates, allowing the Incas to adapt crops from various regions of their vast empire.

In addition to its scientific importance, Moray is also considered a spiritual site, known as a concentration point of feminine energy and a magnetic center of Pachamama (Mother Earth), making it a place of deep connection with nature and Andean cosmology.
