ITINERARY

Day1:- Juliaca - Puno

Upon arrival in Juliaca, you will be met by our team for assistance and private transfer to Puno. En route, we will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani—12-meter (40-foot) high cylindrical stone burial towers, built by the Aymara civilization to bury their most important leaders.

In front of the site lies the beautiful Lake Umayo, which adds to the serenity and visual appeal of the area. While exploring the surroundings, you may also have the chance to observe wild guinea pigs, native birds, and other local Andean wildlife.

After the visit, we continue to your selected hotel in Puno, where you’ll have free time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude.

Note: If you are arriving by train, the Sillustani excursion will take place on Day 4 instead.

Day 2:- Lake Titicaca: Floating Islands of the Uros and overnight at the Amantani Island

After breakfast, we begin a two-hour motorboat excursion on the shimmering waters of Lake Titicaca, heading toward the unique Floating Islands of the Uros. These ancient lake dwellers, known as the Water Tribe, have constructed their floating islands by continuously adding layers of totora reeds, a plant native to the lake. Their homes and boats are also made from this same material, forming a self-sustaining lifestyle that has been passed down through generations.

After learning about their customs and traditions, we continue by boat to Amantani Island. This peaceful island is inhabited by Quechua-speaking communities who continue to live according to ancient Andean traditions. The islanders are known for their exceptional ceramics and textiles, crafted using ancestral techniques.

Amantani is also referred to as the “Island of Love”, due to the powerful spiritual energy felt by many visitors.

A box lunch will be provided during the journey. In the evening, you will enjoy a homestay with a local family, offering a unique opportunity to experience the authentic hospitality and cultural richness of Amantani life.

Day 3:- Lake Titicaca: Amantani Island and Taquile Island - Puno

After breakfast, you’ll have free time to stroll at your own pace through the quaint and colorful streets of Amantani Island, soaking in its peaceful atmosphere and stunning lake views.

Later in the morning, we board our motorboat and head toward Taquile Island, another beautiful island on Lake Titicaca. Taquile is inhabited by Quechua-speaking communities known for their strong social organization and exceptional hand-weaving techniques, passed down through generations. Their textiles are considered among the finest in Peru and have been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Upon arrival at the town of Taquile, we will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by local residents. After lunch, we’ll take a scenic walk across the island, exploring its rolling hills, archaeological sites, and enjoying panoramic views of the lake from this 6 km long island.

In the afternoon, we return by boat to Puno, where you’ll be transferred to your selected hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4:- Puno - Juliaca
