ITINERARY

Day 1:- International Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival at Lima International Airport, you will be met by our representative, who will provide assistance and transfer to your hotel. At the hotel, you will receive a briefing about your tour, including the delivery of travel vouchers for all the services included in your itinerary, as well as additional information regarding the organization of your trip through Peru.

Day 2:- Lima: City Tour

Morning at leisure to rest after your international flight. We recommend taking time to relax and recover, preparing for the start of your unforgettable journey through Peru. Lunch at your own expense.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour through the most significant sites of Lima, known as the “City of Kings.” This excursion includes:

  • Lima’s Historic Center: Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum, the Church of Santo Domingo (home to the tombs of Santa Rosa and San Martin de Porres), and the city’s iconic colonial balconies.
  • San Francisco Convent and Church: The largest monumental complex of colonial art in the Americas, declared a UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Highlights include the Basilica with 21 altars, the Convent’s cloisters, Chapter and Clementine Halls, the monks’ choir and library, the museum with Rubens school paintings, the Sacristy with works by Zurbarán and Ribera, a beautiful Sevillian tile-lined patio, Moorish arches, and the famous underground catacombs.
  • A panoramic drive through the modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, with a visit to Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial center from the Lima Culture, considered sacred by the Incas. We’ll also explore El Olivar Park, home to olive trees imported from Spain in the 15th century, as well as the Central Park of Miraflores and the coastal shopping and entertainment complex Larcomar, offering magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean.

Late afternoon transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3:- Lima / Arequipa: City tour and Santa Catalina Convent

Breakfast at your hotel.

At the coordinated time, transfer to Lima Airport to board your flight to the city of Arequipa. Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to your selected hotel for check-in and baggage storage.

After a short rest, begin your sightseeing tour of Arequipa, known as the White City, due to its buildings made from white volcanic stone (sillar).

The tour includes:

  • The Main Square (Plaza de Armas), one of Peru’s most beautiful plazas.
  • The Cathedral of Arequipa, a masterpiece of 19th-century Peruvian architecture, housing remarkable treasures in gold and silver.
  • The Church of La Compañía, an ancient Jesuit temple with an ornate façade adorned with carved columns, flowers, birds, and indigenous iconography, including angels with Andean features.
  • The Santa Catalina Monastery, a unique architectural complex built in the 17th century. Known as a city within a city, this convent remained closed to the public for nearly 400 years. You’ll explore its patios, plazas, kitchens, slave quarters, and stone wash tubs, all perfectly preserved.

Lunch on your own.
We recommend dining at the “Sol de Mayo” restaurant, known for its local Arequipeñan cuisine.

Return to your hotel for overnight.

Optional: Possibility of extending your stay to visit the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world.

Day 4:- Arequipa / Juliaca / Puno: Sillustani en route

Breakfast at your hotel.
At the coordinated time, transfer to the airport in Arequipa to board your flight to Juliaca.

Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to your hotel in Puno.
On the way, enjoy a visit to the Chullpas of Sillustani, a fascinating pre-Incan archaeological site. These imposing stone cylinder burial towers, built by the Aymara people, were used to bury their most important leaders and nobles.

In front of the site, admire the beautiful views of Lake Umayo, which adds a scenic charm to the area. Additionally, you may spot typical Andean birds that inhabit the surroundings.

After the visit, continue your journey to your hotel in Puno for check-in and rest.

Day 5:- Puno: Titicaca Lake, Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile

Early in the morning, we’ll embark on a motorboat excursion across the legendary waters of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

Our first stop will be at the Floating Islands of the Uros, home to a community known as the Water Tribe. These remarkable people have built their own floating islands using layers of totora reeds, a native plant from the lake. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about their unique way of life, explore their reed homes, and take a short ride on their traditional boats.

We then continue by boat to the picturesque Taquile Island, where locals, known for their impressive textile skills, have preserved ancient Quechua traditions. After arrival, enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the islanders. Afterwards, take a scenic walk through the island’s hills, with beautiful lake views, and visit its archaeological remains.

In the afternoon, we return by boat to Puno, where you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 6:- Puno / Cusco

Breakfast at your hotel.
This morning, we depart by tourist bus towards the city of Cusco, traveling across the stunning landscapes of the High Plateau of the Collao. Along the way, we make several cultural stops:

  • Ayaviri, a town known for its textile production, where we’ll visit the Temple of Kalasaya, remnants of the ancient Pucara Culture.
  • Continuing our journey, we stop at Raqchi, to explore the impressive Temple of Wiracocha, an Inca sanctuary built under the rule of Pachacutec. This complex features a central wall of finely crafted stonework and adobe bricks, surrounded by ancient storehouses and living quarters.
  • Later, we pass through the Stripe Ranch, where you’ll see herds of llamas and vicuñas grazing in the highlands.
  • We also pass by Lake Wacarpay, a scenic spot with its calm waters mirroring the surrounding mountains.

Next, we arrive at the picturesque village of Andahuaylillas, where we visit the beautiful Church of San Pedro, famously known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, due to its stunning polychrome ceilings and ornate colonial artwork.

Enjoy a buffet lunch in a charming countryside restaurant, where you can sample the local Andean cuisine.

Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to your hotel.

Day 7:- Cusco: City Tour and Nearby Ruins

Breakfast at your hotel.
Morning at leisure to rest and acclimatize to Cusco’s altitude. We recommend having lunch at your hotel to prepare for the afternoon tour.

In the afternoon, we begin a guided sightseeing tour of Cusco, exploring:

  • The Main Square, known as Plaza de Armas.
  • The Cathedral, a masterpiece of colonial architecture.
  • The Temple of the Sun or Korikancha, once the most important temple in the Inca Empire.

We then continue outside the city to visit remarkable Inca archaeological sites:

  • Kenko, with its ceremonial stone structures.
  • Tambomachay, known as the Inca baths.
  • Puca Pucara, a small fortress.
  • The impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, famous for its immense stone walls, some stones measuring over 9 meters (30 feet) tall and weighing more than 350 tons.

After the tour, return to your hotel.

Optional: In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner with a folklore show, featuring live Andean music and dancers in typical costumes performing ancestral Peruvian dances.

Day 8:- Cusco: Day off

Day at leisure for personal activities, shopping, or simply relaxing in Cusco.

Day 9:- Cusco / Machu Picchu / Cusco

Early morning transfer to the Cusco train station to board the train for a scenic 3 ½ hour journey to the renowned Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, known as the “Lost City of the Incas” and recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This iconic site was brought to global attention in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham.

Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, a 25-minute bus ride will take you up the winding road to the entrance of Machu Picchu. During a guided tour of approximately 3 hours, your expert guide will explain the extraordinary engineering achievements of the Inca civilization: the precision stonework, sophisticated water channels, staircases carved directly into the mountain, and the Intihuatana (“Hitching Post of the Sun”), believed to have been an astronomical calendar. You will also visit the Temple of the Sun, the Royal Tomb, the Priest’s House, the Inca Baths, and the Temple of the Three Windows — all providing fascinating insights into the life and culture of the Incas.

After the tour, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Aguas Calientes.

In the mid-afternoon, board the train for your return journey to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 10:- Cusco / Puerto Maldonado

Breakfast at your hotel.
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Puerto Maldonado, known as the “Biodiversity Capital of the World”. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our local guide and transferred by vehicle through the city to the Puerto Capitanía Port, located on the banks of the Madre de Dios River. Here, we will board a motorized canoe and navigate downstream to reach the Eco Amazonia Lodge.

Upon arrival at the lodge, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and settle into your private bungalow, where you will have time to freshen up before lunch.

In the afternoon, accompanied by your specialized guide, we will visit the unique Monkey Island (Isla de los Monos), located just five minutes from the lodge. During your guided walk, you will explore lush landscapes filled with vibrant flora and fauna. You’ll have the opportunity to observe a variety of monkey species in their natural habitat, including spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, black hooded saddle-back tamarins, common squirrel monkeys, and red howler monkeys. You may also encounter other Amazonian mammals such as coatis and sloths, as well as a great diversity of bird species.

Weather permitting, we will conclude our visit by enjoying a spectacular jungle sunset — a truly unforgettable experience.

After returning to the lodge by boat, dinner will be served.

Day 11:- Jungle Walk to the Cocha Perdida Lost Lake

Today, accompanied by your specialized guide, we will embark on a fascinating jungle trek towards the area known as the Cocha Perdida (Lost Lake / Oxbow Lake). This ecosystem is a haven for countless species of Amazonian wildlife. As we explore, you may have the opportunity to observe giant river otters, turtles, tapirs, colorful birds, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of the elusive jaguar. The lake’s calm waters also shelter a great variety of fish species.

This area remains largely untouched, preserving its swampy landscapes and flooded forests, providing a rare opportunity to witness the Amazon in its natural state.

During the excursion, you will climb the Mirador Amazónico (Amazon Lookout Tower), an observation platform built atop a giant tree, offering breathtaking panoramic views over the vast rainforest canopy.

After descending, we will paddle through part of the swampy terrain before rejoining the motorized canoe for the return journey to the lodge, where lunch awaits.

In the afternoon, you may choose to visit the Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants, where you will learn about the traditional uses of Amazonian flora. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing swim in the lodge’s large Amazon-style pool, perfect for unwinding after your jungle adventure.

Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 12:- Puerto Maldonado / Lima

Breakfast at the lodge.
At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima, where you will connect with your international departure flight.
