ITINERARY

Day 1:- Iquitos - Amazonas Sinchicuy Lodge

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by one of our native guides, trained in Amazonian ecology. On the way to the dock, you will enjoy a brief city tour of this 19th-century colonial city, visiting its main sites of interest. At the dock, you will board a typical “Pamacari” boat and begin your journey of approximately one hour and fifteen minutes down the majestic Amazon River—one of the longest rivers in the world at over 4,000 miles. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic views of the surrounding jungle.

Your destination is Amazonas Sinchicuy Lodge, built in traditional native style and set in the heart of a lush tropical garden, surrounded by dense rainforest. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing drink and receive a detailed introduction to the lodge’s facilities. Comfortable accommodations with private bathrooms and kerosene lamps will ensure a cozy and authentic jungle experience.

Your eco-cultural journey begins with a visit to the Yagua community—one of the oldest native groups in the region. Here, you will learn about their ancestral customs and how they have adapted to modern life while preserving their traditions. After your visit, you will return to the lodge.

Following lunch, you will visit a local riverside family to observe their traditional agricultural techniques, essential for survival in the challenging environment of the Amazon. You will also see the rudimentary extraction process of sugar cane juice. Later, enjoy a scenic boat ride back to the lodge at sunset.

In the evening, embark on a nocturnal excursion to experience the sounds and mysteries of the Amazon rainforest under the cover of darkness—a true symphony of the night. Later, you will begin a full-day exploration of the Primary Forest Reserve within the Tambo Yanayacu Lodge ecosystem, traveling along the river by canoe. This area, known as “The Kingdom of Giant Trees,” is home to towering species such as the Lupuna (Ceiba) tree and is internationally recognized for its rich biodiversity. As you journey through this lush lowland rainforest, you will encounter a variety of medicinal plants, insects, butterflies, and more.
