Description

Suasi Island covers approximately 43 hectares and is located on the largest section of Lake Titicaca, about 2.5 hours from Puno — 70 kilometers by boat and 167 kilometers by road — at an altitude of 3,810 meters above sea level. This private island offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy a variety of ecotourism activities, such as scenic hikes where you can observe the four species of South American camelids, native birdlife, traditional Andean crops, and local livestock.

Guests can also participate in cultural experiences and savor Novo-Andean cuisine, prepared with fresh organic ingredients sourced locally. Suasi Island is the perfect place to admire the vastness of Lake Titicaca and enjoy peaceful nights under a starry sky, in perfect harmony with nature.

ITINERARY

Day1:- Juliaca – Chullpas de Sillustani - Puno

Pick-up at Juliaca Airport upon your arrival and transfer to your hotel in the city of Puno. On the way, we will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani—cylindrical stone burial towers, skillfully constructed and polished, that reach heights of up to 12 meters. This archaeological site was used by the ancient Aymara people to bury their high priests.

Beside the Chullpas lies the beautiful Umayo Lake, adding a scenic backdrop to this fascinating site. Here, you’ll also have the chance to observe various species of birds and other local wildlife.

After the visit, we’ll continue the transfer to your hotel in Puno. You will have free time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 2:- Puno / Floating Islands of the Uros and Taquile Island / Suasi Island.

At 7:00 a.m., we will depart from the city of Puno, heading first to the famous Floating Islands of the Uros, where we will learn about the customs and daily life of their inhabitants. After this visit, we will continue our journey to Taquile Island, known for its traditional culture and peaceful way of life, which you will experience as we explore the island.

Our trip will then continue to Suasi Island, a privately owned island considered one of the most beautiful on Lake Titicaca, and home to four species of South American camelids. We expect to arrive around 1:30 p.m., where you’ll have time to settle into your room and rest briefly.

Afterwards, we will enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch prepared with local ingredients. In the afternoon, we invite you to participate in the activities offered by the hotel, such as guided nature walks to learn about the local flora and fauna, birdwatching, or cultural experiences with the island’s residents.

Dinner and overnight on Suasi Island.

Day 3:- The Island of Suasi / the City of Puno.

Breakfast. Free time in the morning. We recommend joining an educational walk to learn more about the South American camelids that inhabit the island.

At 1:00 p.m., we will depart from Suasi Island and begin the journey to the Juliaca Airport, which will take approximately three hours.

End of our services.
