ITINERARY

Day 1:- International Arrival in Lima

Assistance upon your arrival at Lima International Airport and transfer to your hotel. There, you will receive a detailed briefing about your upcoming tour, along with vouchers for all included services and additional information regarding the organization of your trip through Peru.

Day 2:- Lima: City Tour

Morning free to rest after your international journey. We recommend taking the time to recover fully so you can begin this unforgettable adventure across Peru feeling refreshed. Free time for lunch.

In the afternoon, guided sightseeing tour through the most attractive and significant landmarks of Lima, known as the City of Kings. Your tour includes:

  • Lima’s Historical Center, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, and the Cathedral with its Religious Art Museum.
  • Church of Santo Domingo, where you’ll see the tombs of Santa Rosa de Lima and San Martin de Porres, as well as Lima’s famous Colonial Balconies.
  • Convent and Church of San Francisco, the largest monumental complex of Colonial Art in the Americas and a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site. Here, you’ll visit the Basilica of 21 altars, cloisters, historic rooms, paintings from the Rubens school, the sacristy, Moorish arches, and the famous underground catacombs.

The tour continues through the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing the Huaca Pucllana, an ancient ceremonial site considered sacred by the Incas. Finally, visit El Olivar Park, Miraflores Central Park, and Larcomar, a modern shopping and entertainment center offering spectacular views over the Pacific Ocean.

Late afternoon transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3:- Lima / Cusco: City Tour and Visit to Nearby Ruins

Early in the morning, after breakfast, transfer to Lima Airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the morning is free for you to rest, acclimatize to the altitude, and enjoy lunch. We recommend having lunch at your hotel’s restaurant to allow proper adjustment to the elevation.

In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Cusco, visiting:

  • Main Square (Plaza de Armas)

  • The Cathedral, a prime example of colonial architecture
  • Temple of the Sun (Korikancha), the most important temple in the Inca Empire

The tour continues outside the city to explore impressive nearby Inca sites:

  • Kenko
  • Tambomachay
  • Puca Pucara
  • Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, famous for its enormous, precisely carved stones, some reaching over 9 meters (30 feet) in height and weighing more than 350 tons.

Return to your hotel at the end of the tour.

Optional: Dinner in a traditional restaurant, featuring a folklore show with Andean music and dancers performing traditional Peruvian dances.

Day 4:- Cusco: Sacred Valley of the Inkas

Early morning, embark on an excursion to the Urubamba Valley, known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Your first stop will be the picturesque Pisaq Market, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. This traditional Andean market is a perfect place to experience local culture, where barter is still practiced and artisans sell handmade crafts, textiles, and souvenirs.

Enjoy a typical buffet lunch at a local restaurant, sampling traditional Andean flavors in a beautiful setting.

In the afternoon, continue your journey through the towns of Calca and Urubamba, heading to the impressive Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo. Built to protect the Sacred Valley from invasions, Ollantaytambo offers a fascinating glimpse into Inca military, religious, and agricultural ingenuity. Explore its ancient terraces and stone structures, as well as the charming nearby town with its narrow streets and Inca-era architecture.

Late in the day, return to your hotel in Cusco for overnight.

Evening free: We recommend strolling through Cusco’s Main Square (Plaza de Armas), enjoying the lively atmosphere, and trying a traditional Pisco Sour at one of the local pubs or cafes.

Day 5:-Cusco: Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes

Breakfast at your hotel.

The day begins early with a transfer to the Cusco Train Station for a scenic 3 ½ hour journey aboard the train to the majestic Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, famously known as the “Lost City of the Incas” and recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes Station, you’ll board a 30-minute bus ride ascending the winding mountain road that leads to Machu Picchu.

Once at the site, enjoy a guided tour of this awe-inspiring archaeological complex, exploring key areas such as:

  • The Main Plaza
  • The Circular Tower
  • The Sacred Sun Dial (Intihuatana)
  • The Royal Quarters
  • The Temple of the Three Windows
  • Various burial sites and ceremonial areas

Following the tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel at your own pace, take photos, or simply soak in the mystical surroundings.

Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at a local restaurant (not included).

Day 6:- Machu Picchu: Aguas Calientes - Cusco

Breakfast at your hotel.

Take advantage of this morning to wake up early and enjoy a beautiful sunrise over Aguas Calientes. You may also choose to visit the local hot spring thermal waters, perfect for a relaxing soak after your previous day’s hike.

The day offers several options for additional exploration:

  1. Second Visit to Machu Picchu Citadel
    Return to the archaeological site for a second visit, allowing you to explore areas you may have missed or simply experience the magic of Machu Picchu at your own pace.
  2. Climb to Huayna Picchu (subject to availability)
    For adventurous travelers, a hike up Huayna Picchu is highly recommended. From its summit, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the surrounding Andes.
  • Duration: approximately 2 to 2.5 hours round trip
  • You must register at the trail’s entrance before starting, as spaces are limited.
  • The climb must be completed before 1:00 p.m.

After your chosen activity, return to Aguas Calientes to collect your belongings.

In the afternoon, board the train back to Cusco, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for overnight stay.

Evening free – dinner on your own.

Day 7:- Cusco / Puno by bus

Early departure by tourist bus toward the city of Puno (3,860 m.a.s.l.), crossing Peru’s impressive southern highlands.

Throughout the journey, you’ll experience the following highlights:

  • Wacarpay Lake:
    A scenic stop to appreciate the mirror-like reflections of the surrounding mountains in this peaceful lake.
  • Andahuaylillas:
    Visit the San Pedro Church, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”, thanks to its richly decorated polychrome ceilings and colonial art treasures.
  • Raqchi – Temple of Wiracocha:
    Explore the Inca sanctuary built by Pachacutec in honor of the deity Wiracocha. Discover the central stone wall flanked by adobe columns, along with surrounding structures that served as housing and storage.
  • La Raya Pass:
    Located at the highest point of the route, enjoy views of vicuñas and llamas grazing in the vast puna landscapes.
  • Ayaviri:
    Visit the Temple of Kalasaya, notable ruins from the ancient Pucara Culture. This town is also an important center for livestock and textile production.

Enjoy a buffet lunch in a local countryside restaurant, sampling regional Peruvian dishes.

In the afternoon, continue your journey to the city of Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival, transfer to your selected hotel.

Evening free – ideal for rest or an optional stroll around Puno’s main square.

Day 8:- Puno: Titicaca Lake, Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile

Today, embark on a full-day motorboat excursion on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

  • First stop: The Floating Islands of the Uros.
    Meet the Uros people, known as the Water Tribe, who have built and maintained their artificial islands using layers of totora reeds. Discover their unique way of life, including reed houses and boats, as well as their fascinating history and traditions.
  • Next stop: Taquile Island.
    Continue by boat to Taquile Island, home to Quechua-speaking communities famous for their traditional textile art, recognized as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Here, witness their communal lifestyle, ancient agricultural terraces, and intricate weaving techniques passed down for generations.
  • Typical lunch will be served on the island, featuring local products such as trout and quinoa.
  • After lunch, enjoy a leisurely walk through Taquile’s hills and archaeological sites, with breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca.

In the afternoon, return by boat to Puno.

Day 9:- Puno: Chullpas of Sillustani

Early in the morning, depart for a 30-minute drive to the Chullpas of Sillustani, a remarkable archaeological site. These impressive stone cylinder burial towers, built by the Aymara people, were used to entomb their most important leaders and noble families. Some of the chullpas reach heights of up to 12 meters, showcasing advanced engineering techniques.

The site offers not only historical significance but also stunning natural beauty, as it overlooks the serene Lake Umayo, creating a peaceful and scenic atmosphere. You’ll also have the chance to observe local bird species in the surrounding area.

After the visit, return to Puno.

Rest of the day free for personal activities or relaxation.

Day 10:- Puno - La Paz

Breakfast at your lodge.

Afterwards, we’ll embark on a boat trip to the Wasai Maldonado Lodge, located in Puerto Maldonado, where you’ll settle into your comfortable bungalow and enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll navigate for approximately 20 minutes along the Madre de Dios River to reach the trailhead leading to Lake Sandoval. From here, a 5 km hike through lush rainforest will take us to this beautiful oxbow lake, a pristine area typical of the Amazon.

At the lake, we’ll board a canoe to explore its calm waters, surrounded by rich flora and fauna. You’ll have the opportunity to spot kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (pre-historic looking birds), various species of monkeys, and, with some luck, the elusive giant river otters that inhabit the lake.

You’ll also have a chance to fish for piranhas, swim in the refreshing waters, and enjoy a spectacular Amazonian sunset.

Later, we’ll hike back to the Madre de Dios River and return by boat to Puerto Maldonado, where you’ll spend the night at the modern bungalows of Wasai Maldonado Lodge.

After dinner, the evening is free to relax at the lodge, explore the town on foot or by bicycle, or enjoy the pool with a waterfall, surrounded by the Amazon’s lush vegetation.

Day 11:- La Paz - Sightseeing tour and Moon Valley

In the morning, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of La Paz, Bolivia’s fascinating administrative capital. The tour begins at the historic Murillo Square, home to the Presidential Palace, National Congress, and La Paz Cathedral. You’ll also visit the San Francisco Temple, a significant religious site showcasing beautiful colonial architecture.

Explore the narrow streets and admire the old colonial mansions, full of history and tradition. The tour includes a visit to the famous Witches’ Market, where locals sell traditional herbs, potions, and ritual items used in Andean spiritual practices.

Continue through the residential districts of La Paz to reach the striking Moon Valley, where time and erosion have sculpted the earth into bizarre, otherworldly formations reminiscent of a lunar landscape.

After the tour, return to your hotel. The afternoon is free for personal activities, rest, or optional tours.

Day 12:- La Paz / International Departure

Transfer to La Paz International Airport at the appropriate time for your return flight.

Note: This itinerary can also be operated in reverse, starting from La Paz and continuing through Puno, Cusco, and ending in Lima, depending on flight availability or your preference.
