Day 1: Arrival in Lima – Transfer and Briefing

Upon your arrival at Lima International Airport, our team will be waiting to assist you and provide a private transfer to your hotel. Once at the hotel, you will receive a detailed briefing about your trip, along with your travel vouchers covering all the services included in your itinerary. You will also be given important information regarding the organization of your journey throughout Peru.

Day 2:- Lima: City Tour

Morning at leisure to rest after your international flight. We recommend getting plenty of rest to prepare for the start of this unforgettable journey through Peru. Free time for lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll begin a guided sightseeing tour of Lima, also known as the “City of Kings”. The tour includes a visit to Lima’s Historic Centre, passing by Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral, and its Religious Art Museum, as well as the Church of Santo Domingo, home to the tombs of Santa Rosa de Lima and San Martín de Porres, and Lima’s famous colonial balconies.

Next, we will explore the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the largest monumental complex of Colonial Art in the Americas and designated as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Highlights include the Basilica of 21 altars, the Convent’s cloisters, Capitulary and Clementine Rooms, Chorus and Library, a museum showcasing 11 paintings from the Rubens School, the Sacristy featuring works by Zurbarán and Ribera, the large patio adorned with Seville tiles from the 16th century, Moorish arches, and the famous underground catacombs.

We then continue to the modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial and administrative center of the Lima Culture, built in the 2nd century A.D. and considered sacred by the Incas. We’ll also visit El Olivar Park, with its centuries-old olive trees brought from Spain, the Central Park of Miraflores, and Larcomar, a modern entertainment and shopping complex with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

In the late afternoon, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3:- Paracas: Ballestas Islands / Nazca

We will depart very early in the morning, before sunrise, for our journey to Paracas, located approximately 240 kilometers south of Lima (about a 3-hour drive). Upon arrival to the Paracas Peninsula, we will visit one of the most important wildlife sanctuaries on the Peruvian coast.

We’ll then embark on an exciting boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands, where we will observe a rich variety of marine wildlife, including sea lions, Peruvian boobies, pelicans, Humboldt penguins, and numerous species of marine birds. On the way to the islands, from the boat, we will also have the chance to admire the famous “Candelabro” (Candelabra), a mysterious geoglyph carved into the sand on the side of a hill, resembling the style of the Nazca Lines.

In the afternoon, we will continue by tourist bus to the city of Nazca, where we will spend the night. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to relax and enjoy the amenities of your hotel.

Day 4:- Nazca: Nazca Lines / Arequipa

After breakfast, early in the morning, we will transfer you to the Nazca airstrip, where you will board a light aircraft for a memorable flight over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. These enormous geoglyphs—depicting animals, birds, and geometric shapes—were etched into the desert sands and can only be fully appreciated from the air.

After this unforgettable experience, in the afternoon, we will begin our overland journey to the city of Arequipa (approximately 10 hours), traveling through desert landscapes and coastal valleys along the way.

Upon arrival in the White City of Arequipa, named for its beautiful colonial buildings made of white volcanic stone from the nearby Misti Volcano, you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel.

For dinner, we recommend enjoying the local flavors at Sambambaia’s or La Truffa restaurant.

Day 5:- Arequipa: City tour and Santa Catalina Convent

Today’s tour begins with a visit to the Main Square, considered one of the most beautiful in Peru, and the Cathedral of Arequipa, a prime example of 19th-century Peruvian architecture, home to exquisite treasures of gold and silver.

We will then visit the Church of La Compañía, an ancient Jesuit temple renowned for its history and tradition. Its remarkable façade features carved columns, laurel crowns, flowers, and birds. On closer inspection, you’ll notice that the angels bear indigenous features, and one is even crowned with feathers—a fascinating blend of European and native influences.

Next, we visit the impressive Santa Catalina Convent, a “small city” built in the 17th century and opened to the public only in 1970 after 400 years as a cloister. Meticulously preserved, the convent offers a journey back in time as you explore its spacious patios and gardens, the kitchens, slave quarters, and stone wash basins. Today, around 20 nuns still live in a private section of the convent, which once housed over 500.

After the tour, return to your selected hotel in Arequipa.
Lunch on your own – we recommend dining at the traditional Sol de Mayo Restaurant for a taste of local cuisine.

Day 6:- Arequipa: Colca Canyon

Early in the morning, we will depart on a scenic four-hour journey to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world (3,180 meters). Along the way, we will cross the Pampa Cañahuas, located in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, a region inhabited by herds of vicuñas and alpacas, iconic South American camelids.

The route reaches its highest point at 4,350 meters above sea level, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. As we continue, you will see beautiful pre-Columbian agricultural terraces, still cultivated today by the local Collagua people.

Upon arrival in the Colca Valley, you will be transferred to your selected lodge.
Lunch is at your own expense.

In the afternoon, we recommend resting to help your body acclimatize to the altitude. However, if you are feeling well, you may take a short walk around the lodge’s surroundings or enjoy a relaxing bath at the nearby thermal hot springs.

Day 7:- Colca: Condor Cross / Arequipa

We will depart early in the morning towards the famous “Condor’s Cross”, a strategic viewpoint where, with some luck, you will be able to witness the majestic flight of the Andean condor, the largest flying bird in the world, soaring gracefully amidst the canyon walls.

On our return journey, we will visit the colonial villages and churches of Yanque, Coporaque, Achoma, and Maca. This will be a great opportunity to observe the traditional lifestyle of the local people, whose customs and way of life have changed little since Inca times.

We will stop to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (not included).

In the late afternoon, we will return to your selected hotel in Arequipa.
Evening at leisure.
