ITINERARY

Day 01 - Lima / Iquitos / City Tour

  • Plaza de Armas: Begin your walking tour around the main square, surrounded by impressive architecture from the rubber boom era—a period of economic splendor in Iquitos.

  • Iron House: Visit the famous Iron House, designed by Gustave Eiffel. Originally imported from Brussels in 1890 by rubber trader Julio Toots, this prefabricated iron building was transported in sections and assembled in Iquitos. While part of the structure deteriorated over time, the remaining section, located at the corner of Putumayo and Prospero Streets, still stands proudly across from the Plaza de Armas.

  • Palace Hotel: Admire the exterior of this iconic building, inspired by European architecture. Once a symbol of the city’s prosperity, today it serves as a facility for the Peruvian Army.

  • Malecón Tarapacá: Take a leisurely walk along this attractive riverside promenade, lined with historic monuments and buildings. The boardwalk offers sweeping views of the Itaya River and the unique Amazonian landscape, including the colorful district of Belén.

  • Amazon Museum: Housed in a restored historical building from 1863, the museum displays over 60 sculptures by artist Felipe Lettersten, representing key Amazonian ethnic groups such as the Shipibo, Boras, Yaguas, Witotos, Asháninkas, Aguarunas, and Mayarunas. The museum also features intricate wood carvings adorning its walls and ceilings.

Return to the hotel to rest or continue exploring at your own pace.
