ITINERARY
Day 1:- Arequipa City Tour and Monastery of Santa Catalina
Reception and transfer to your hotel. After a short rest, we will begin the tour of Arequipa, the White City. Our first stop will be the Main Square, where we will admire a beautiful bronze fountain with three tiers, crowned by the figure of a 16th-century soldier. Here, we will also visit the Church of the Society of Jesus, known for its impressive baroque façade.
Next, we will visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, once a center of complete seclusion that remained closed to the public for centuries. Today, it has been beautifully restored and opened to visitors, offering a unique opportunity to experience what Arequipa looked like in the 17th century. Inside, we will explore its narrow streets, colorful gardens, and high walls built from volcanic sillar stone.
We will then continue to the green countryside of the Yanahuara Viewpoint, where you will enjoy a privileged panoramic view of the city and the surrounding volcanoes: Misti, Pichupichu, and Chachani.
Return to your hotel.
Overnight in Arequipa.
Day 2:- Arequipa - Chivay
Breakfast. Early in the morning, we will begin our journey to the Colca Valley, located in the Province of Caylloma at an altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level. Along the way, we will pass through the district of Yura and the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, where you can observe wild vicuñas in their natural habitat.
We will continue through the ancient crater of the Chucure Volcano before reaching Patapampa, the highest point of the route at 4,800 meters above sea level. From this viewpoint, you will enjoy panoramic views of the largest concentration of volcanoes in the Arequipa region.
Upon arrival in the town of Chivay, we will check into the hotel and have time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will have the option to visit the La Calera Hot Springs, ideal for relaxing after the journey (optional activity).
Overnight in Chivay.
.Day 3:- Chivay – Cross of the Condor - Arequipa
Breakfast. This day, we will visit the famous Cruz del Cóndor (Cross of the Condor), a natural viewpoint offering an impressive panoramic view of the Colca Canyon — one of the deepest canyons in the world, reaching 3,400 meters in depth. From this point, you will have the opportunity to observe the majestic flight of the Andean condor.
On the return journey, we will visit several picturesque towns and attractions, including Pinchollo, the Hanging Pre-Inca Tombs, the Litomoquetas, as well as the villages of Maca, Achoma, Yanque, and finally Chivay.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant in Chivay (not included).
After lunch, we will return to the city of Arequipa.
Overnight in Arequipa.
Day 4:- Arequipa / Exit
Breakfast. At the appropriate time, transfer to the bus station or airport for your return journey to your city of origin.
